Author Spotlight: Bria Lexor

Welcome to my author spotlight, where I’m featuring paranormal romance books in anticipation of my own YA paranormal romance release Paramour! Since it is MerMAY, today’s feature is on Bria Lexor, author of Hero of the Fallen Empire, a YA Paranormal Romance released June 7, 2022. In Hero of the Fallen Empire, runaway prince Taron Seaton returns home to search for his missing father, but rebuilding his kingdom means facing the truth he’s spent his life running from. Let’s find out more about the author and this short story male octopus shifter!

What inspired you to write paranormal romance, and what draws you to this genre specifically?

I was interested in writing about supernatural creatures. And paranormal is the way to go!

If you could spend a day with any of your paranormal characters, who would you choose and why?

Timbrax DeRaps from my Hell’s Guardian Chronicles. He is a Varacolaci king who is capable of teaching anyone the ways of a vampire.

How do you balance world-building and romantic tension to keep readers engaged?

I stay in present time on earth so it’s easy for me to keep the world building and romance current to my lifestyle.

What paranormal romance trope can you never resist, either reading or writing?

Any shifter! I love writing shifter series!

What’s one paranormal power or creature you haven’t written about yet but would love to explore?

A fae/elf.

If your paranormal romance couple had to face off against Edward and Bella from Twilight in a Hunger Games-style competition, which couple would win and why?

Timbrax DeRaps and Zyra Falls. They are two powerful vampires. Zyra has an advantage by turning into a Superheroine vampire called Hell’s Guardian and will destroy all enemies with her Venin dagger and Valistic sword. Timbrax wields the Holistic sword. They are the perfect power couple I’ve written featuring vampires!

Whoa! Watch out Edward and Bella!

Excerpt:

Age of nine years, and I have been fending for myself ever since. I am getting lost in my thoughts as I usually do when suddenly I hear a delicate and feminine voice.

“Excuse me, sir.”

I turn around to find a beautiful girl standing behind me. With her long, brown, and silky hair, her enormous eyes of the same color, and her slim and soft features, I understand she will live in my mind for quite some time. I have never seen her before, so I gather she is a tourist.

“Could you tell me where I can find the souvenir shop, please?” the girl asks.

“Absolutely,” I reply, smiling charmingly, “The shop is actually behind you, Miss.”
